Petland Pets For Life Foundation
About:
Petland Pets For Life Foundation is a part of Petland Canada. This organization is set up to be able to re-home older pets that have been surrendered to their stores. This does not include older puppies/kittens that have been in the store since they were 8 weeks of age.
The mission of the Petland Pets for Life Foundation is to provide effective means to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and reduce the numbers of stray, injured, abandoned, abused, and neglected companion animals.
What We Do:
Once a pet has been surrendered to one of the three stores (Pembina, Kenaston or Crossroads locations) we will do the following:
- The pet is brought into clinic to have a complete physical examination
- Vaccines are administered by one of our veternarians (Depending on their vaccine history, we vaccinate dogs and cats for Rabies. Petland then will continue with their respiratory virus vaccinations. The pet store is then supplied with a vaccination certificate showing the date as to which vaccine was given.
- The pet will be spayed or neutered and will receive any furthur medical care as required (For example: Dental cleanings, Orthopedic surgeries, Furthur diagnostics for allergies etc.)
